Healthcare professionals from facilities serviced by Zipline in Cross River State have expressed satisfaction with the transformation in healthcare logistics due to the deployment of drone technology in the state.

Zipline partnered with the Cross River State government to distribute essential medical products to health facilities within the state. This initiative has significantly transformed healthcare logistics in Cross River State through innovative drone technology provided by Zipline.

Local health facilities in the Ogoja local government area have recognized the government’s partnership with Zipline as a key step in revolutionising the distribution of medical supplies in remote areas.

Healthcare professionals in the state have noticed the difference, especially in the Ijiraga and Mfuma Primary Health Centers, which previously faced frequent medication shortages and delays in restocking, impacting patient care. Since collaborating with Zipline, these centres have improved their healthcare services’ efficiency and reliability.

In a press statement, the director of the Ijiraga Primary Health Centre, Mr. Augustine Okpotu, stated, “Zipline’s drone technology has addressed key aspects of primary health care: affordability, availability, and accessibility. It has reduced the cost of procuring drugs and made it convenient for us to access medical products, even amidst challenges like fuel scarcity. We can ensure prompt delivery of necessary drugs with a simple phone call or text message, reducing wastage.”

Okpotu added, “Before, people were reluctant to visit our facilities due to long wait times and frequent drug shortages. Now, we can compete with higher-level healthcare facilities in terms of drug availability, thanks to this delivery system.”

Zipline’s services have also restored hope and trust in the health facilities they serve. For example, the Ijiriga Primary Health Facility was able to quickly receive necessary drugs for a patient through Zipline, potentially saving their life.

The director of the Mfuma PHC, Mr. Raphael Ochim, commented on the impact of Zipline, saying, “Zipline’s drone technology and service have been beneficial. It is cost-effective, fast, and accurate. We no longer worry about transportation costs or travelling long distances for drugs; we simply make a call, and they deliver promptly.”

Zipline’s commitment to excellence is evident in its operations and robust feedback system that keeps healthcare providers informed about delivery statuses. Serving over 13 million Nigerians in Kaduna, Cross River, and Bayelsa States, and supporting over 1,000 healthcare facilities, Zipline’s drone technology has made a significant impact, with over 100,000 healthcare product deliveries and nearly 7 million products delivered globally.
