The Forum of Local Government Secretaries of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has passed a vote of confidence on the leader of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, for what it described as “his resilience, effectiveness, consistency, and intrepid leadership,” in the raging issue of pruning governorship aspirants.

The forum equally commended the Prof. Julius  Ihonvbere-led Advisory Committee for “meticulously and diligently engaging with prospective aspirants with the mandate of pruning the large number of our eminently qualified prospective aspirants to a manageable size.”

In a statement signed by 16 secretaries out of the 18 local government councils in the state, the forum, while fully endorsing the report of the committee,” further appealed to aspirants who are not captured by the Prof. Juluis Ihonvbere’s advisory committee’s recommendation to kindly accept the outcome in the interest of the party.

“We respectfully appeal to all prospective aspirants, not captured in the Prof. Juluis Ihonvbere’s advisory committee’s recommendation to kindly accept the outcome in the interest of the party.

“Additionally, the forum wishes to express its sincere gratitude to all aspirants and stakeholders who have accepted the committee’s recommendation. Your decision to accept the report of the committee is highly commendable, we thank you for walking the path of peace and progress, and we are sure your sacrifices will not be taken for granted.

“Furthermore, the forum appeals to party members to avoid and stop the unnecessary bickering, altercation, name calling, and infighting within the party. We are stronger together, and towing the path of peace is the way to go. In unity, victory shall be ours,” the forum added.
