The lawmaker representing Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency, Hon Mansur Manu Soro has distributed 2,565 bags of 50kg fertilizer and 300 spraying machines to dry season farmers in his constituency.
Speaking yesterday when he visited Bula irrigation farming fields in Gabarin, Darazo local government area, he urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the inputs to increase food output in his constituency and Bauchi State in general.
Soro used the opportunity to interact with the farmers to identify challenges they face and also inspected some of their products ready for evacuation to the market.
He also provided eight new pumping machines valued at about N1 million to address the major difficulty faced by farmers in drawing water using a crude method of calabash and rope.
“Since the inception of our representation in 2019, my office has continued to facilitate rainy season farming, an average of 2,000 bags of free fertilizer annually. For the first time, yesterday we took a deliberate step to empower dry season farmers with free inputs,” he said.
Soro who was accompanied by the permanent secretary, Bauchi State Ministry of Agriculture and the party chairman in local government chairman added that, “We shall remain irrevocably committed to sustaining our multi-sectoral interventions in agriculture, education and health sectors of the economy for the betterment of our constituents in Darazo/Ganjuwa.”
