While there are no such thing as zero-calorie foods, there are certain foods you can have as much as you want without the fear of weight gain.

Although these fruits and vegetables aren’t high in protein, they’re packed with plenty of vitamins, antioxidants, and other nutrients that have numerous benefits for your health

The science behind this is the fact that these foods are high in fiber and keep you full for prolonged hours. These foods generally fall into one of two categories: non-starchy fruits or vegetables.

They may not be so rich in protein but that doesn’t mean that they are not rich in vitamins, minerals, trace elements and antioxidants that are so valuable to our bodies!

 some of these wonderful foods:

  1. Celery

Celery is a vegetable that is made up of 95 per cent water! That says a lot on its own! It also contains fiber and 10 per cent of the daily recommended intake of vitamin C. And calories you ask? Not one, not two.. but… 6 whole calories per serving!!!

Don’t shake your head doubting what you read! Ok they are in the fruit and vegetable section but that doesn’t mean that they don’t taste great!!!!

  1. Broccoli

It is well known for the natural substance it contains – sulforaphane, which has an anti-cancerous effect. Broccoli is a super food full of vitamins and minerals that are valuable for our bodies, such as vitamins A, C, E, K, thiamine, riboflavin, potassium, calcium, phosphorous and iron. Apart from all of this, in 100 g of broccoli, you will find 16 per cent of the daily recommended intake of fiber, and all this with just 31 calories per serving.

  1. Kale

There are only 41 calories in 100 g of kale as well as 3 g of protein. Best of all though, this particular vegetable is rich in vitamins A, E, K, C and folic acid.

  1. Cucumber

Do you remember my article on Foods you should eat without peeling? We can add cucumbers to this list! They have a high-water content and are rich in vitamin K, magnesium and potassium, while they are poor in calories… only 16 calories per 100 g!!

  1. Lettuce

How many nutrients could a humble, simple, little lettuce contain? Countless!! Among these are vitamin C, thiamine, iron, folic acid and… just 10-20 calories (depending on the variety of lettuce)!

  1. Cauliflower

A serving of cauliflower contains 25 calories. Along with these calories we can also find fiber, vitamins C and K, antioxidants and phytochemicals (chemical compounds produced by plants to help them protect themselves from bacteria, fungi and viruses that could harm them), which can only benefit our bodies.

  1. Blueberries

If you are looking for some fruit with more antioxidant? you just found it!!! Blueberries!!! They also contain  per cent of the daily recommended intake in fiber, while “burdening” us with 67 calories per 1 cup!!

  1. Raspberries

They “wake up” our minds and fortify our bodies with antioxidants. They are also rich in vitamins C and E, help with good digestion and tighten tissues to offer us bright skin! Their calories are 43 per 100 g.

  1. Strawberries

A cup of strawberries (which has only 68 calories) gives us more vitamin C than an orange! Along with it, they enrich us with polyphenols, a type of antioxidant that our bodies adore!

  1. Oranges

Yes! Oranges are rich in vitamin C which is good for our health as well as our… beauty! I’m quite sure you don’t know where some more nutrients are located in the orange… They are found between the peel and the flesh! I’m referring to that white part. The pith, which seems to have a lot of fiber that are valuable to our bodies.
