Kano Assembly Swears In Deputy Speaker

Muhammad Bello Butu Butu representing Rimin Gadon/Tofa and Zakariyya8 have been sworn in by the Kano State House of Assembly.

The swearing-in took place during yesterday’s executive session following deliberations by members of the House.

Butu Butu was sworn in alongside other principal officers in 13th June, 2023 as the deputy speaker of the 10th Assembly but the appeal court later ordered a rerun election in some constituencies across the country, including those represented by the two lawmakers, where they were affirmed duly elected by INEC.

Shortly after the swearing-in, the majority leader, Alhaji Lawan Hussaini Dala, moved a motion for the nomination of Muhammad Bello Butu Butu as the deputy speaker.
