NEDC Donates Food, Others To North East Beneficiaries

North East Development Commission (NEDC), said it is donating food and non-food items to people in the six states of the North East.
Speaking at a briefing in Abuja yesterday, the chairman of the NEDC board, Gen. Paul Tafa (rtd) said the commission will donate 300,000 bags of rice; 200,000 cartons of spaghetti and macaroni; 100,000 bags of sugar.

He also listed some of the non-food items to include: 100,000 bags; 100,000 wrappers; 100,000 clothing materials among others.
Speaking on the focus of the commission this year, Gen. Tafa said in line with president Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, the board of the commission has resolved to complete all ongoing and abandoned projects.

He said the board resolved to create opportunities to improve the lives and welfare of the women and people of the North East; create multiple projects that will help the zone.
Also, the board resolved to provide e-mobility/transportation to the people of the zones and the continued distributions of food and non-food items to the people of North East.

As part of ensuring the completion of the ongoing projects, the chairman of the board said six road projects currently ongoing in Adamawa State, Bauchi State, Borno State, Gombe State, Taraba State and Yobe State will be completed in December.

The board further revealed that within the time frame of ten years, the commission aims to execute projects that will cost as much as N33 trillion.
