Miesinnei Genesis has won yet another gold medal for Team Nigeria after defeating Canada’s Madison Parks, to win women’s wrestling freestyle 50kg at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games on Saturday.

Genesis recorded a 3-1 (Victory by fall) to easily win the contest to make it three gold medals for Nigeria from wrestling.

In 2019, Genesis won the silver medal in the women’s 50kg beach wrestling event at the 2019 World Beach Games held in Doha, Qatar.

In the men’s event at the ongoing Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Ebikewenimo Welson won silver medal in freestyle 57kg after losing to India’s Kumar Ravi.
