They made the appeal in a statement signed by the national coordinator of KNDPU, Alh Mohammad Mariam Al-Hassan.

The stakeholders who made reference to the recent engagement on the governorship agenda of Kwara North by the traditional rulers under the leadership of Etsu Patigi, Alh Umar Bologi II at Patigi noted that ,”Kwara North Development Progressive Union (KNDP) has thrown it’s full weight behind the Kwara North project 2027, at the just concluded stakeholders engagement submit that was organised by our esteemed traditional royal fathers which took place under the leadership of His Royal Highness, Alhaji Umar Bologi II  in Patigi.”

“The event was well-timed decision on the right path, considering the fact that Kwara North have maximally supported  Kwara central and south senatorial districts respectively to emerge as  executive governors  of the state since the advent of the fourth Republic,” they added.

The stakeholders, however, noted that:”We are fully aware that the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 Constitution, as amended, grants every Nigerian who meets the requirements outlined in the Constitution the freedom to vie and fight for elected offices as an expression of his or her fundamental democratic rights.

“However, in the spirit of natural justice, equity and fairness; and continuous harmonious relationship based on love, peace and unity, we are strongly appealing to the other two senatorial districts  to morally give Kwara north maximum  support in 2027 to produce the next governor.

“We understand that it is not automatic; therefore, we are  appealing for understanding, cooperation, and support of our Kwarans from other senatorial districts  to achieve our desired objective and aim.

“We equally wish to seize this opportunity to implore our Kwara northerners to join hands with our royal fathers, providing them with all of the necessary support and encouragement during the historical trip while preserving our civility and tolerance.”
