The national president of the third phase delegates, General Elaye Slaboh, emphasized this during an interactive meeting with stakeholders in Benin, Edo State.

He also encouraged the delegates to support the efforts of the interim administrator, Gen Barry Ndiomu (rtd), to further benefit the people.

Slaboh praised the communication approach of the PAP interim administrator, noting its role in quelling tensions in the region.

He expressed satisfaction with the current administration’s management of the programme, stating, “We are very pleased with the way the programme is being handled. If this continues, the best is yet to come.”

The PAP interim administrator, represented by head of reintegration in the Amnesty Office, Wilfred Musa highlighted the purpose of the interactive meeting to familiarise the third phase members with the vision and mission of the current PAP leadership.

Musa emphasised the need for a transformation in the delegates’ questionable behaviours, citing instances where their attitudes hindered their employability.

The leadership of PAP had raised concerns over the poor performance of delegates in the scholarship scheme, attributing it to a lack of commitment to academic pursuits and an inclination towards lodging baseless complaints against the programme’s leadership.

Ndiomu decried the poor performance of some delegates in recent examinations, leading to their disqualification.

He emphasised PAP’s commitment to enhancing standards, stating that admission into universities will prioritize committed individuals willing to undergo training within the Amnesty Programme’s framework.

Ndiomu applauded the delegates for maintaining decorum during various interactive sessions in Rivers, Calabar, and Abuja and urged them to avoid divisive actions that could sow disunity in the Niger Delta region.
