Amidst the challenges facing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, a grassroot politician and former House of Assembly aspirant, Engr Dee Ilugbekhai has called for unity among party faithful in preparation for the upcoming Edo 2024 gubernatorial election that has brought Dr Asue Ighodalo, as the PDP candidate.

In a statement released by the politician made available to journalists in Lagos, Ilugbekhai emphasized that only a united PDP can clinch victory and uphold its esteemed position in Osadebe Avenue, the Edo State Government House.

The PDP in Edo State has encountered internal discord, with factions emerging amidst differing aspirations. Engr Ilugbekhai acknowledges this reality but emphasizes the paramount importance of setting aside differences to focus on the shared goal of victory in the forthcoming election.

“While internal challenges may arise, our strength as a party lies in our unity,” states Engr Ilugbekhai, adding that, “Now, more than ever, it is imperative that we rally together, transcending individual ambitions for the collective success of our party.”

He further stressed the broader significance of the PDP’s success, saying “In a time when the nation is grappling with economic and social uncertainties, the people of Edo State, like Nigerians at large, look to the PDP for solutions. It is incumbent upon us to unite and present a formidable front that not only secures victory but also offers hope and progress for our state.”
