For allegedly involving in professional misconduct, the Ondo State Security Network codenamed Amotekun Corps has dismissed three of its officers.
The commander of Amotekun Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed this at the corps headquarters in Alagbaka Akure, the state capital when he paraded seven suspects who stole some household materials.
Adeleye said the three dismissed officers would be prosecuted in line with the regulations guiding the corps.
He said, “We want to inform the public that we have three of the Amotekun personnel that had gone through the normal process of corps Marshall and have been dismissed today for professional misconduct and we will ensure that adequate punishments even after the dismissal are given to them.
“The penalty of what they did is to dismiss them and we have dismissed them accordingly,’’ he said.
On the suspected criminals, Adeleye said, “We have seven suspected criminals and recovered a vehicle that was stolen at gunpoint.’’
He said three of the seven suspects were arrested for burglary and stealing while the remaining were arrested for human trafficking.
The Amotekun boss said, “The resident of a particular community around Akure town raised the alarm within a few minutes of the alarm, we were able to move and get there. While trying to rescue the victim, the armed robbers who had already taken over the vehicle drove off and we were able to retrieve the vehicle while the efforts were on to apprehend the robbers.”
