FOSLA Academy Karshi, the only school where students combine education with football, has made history following the appointment of one of the ex- students of the institution, Dauda Jibrin, as a store manager.
Jibrin’s appointment, which could be described as testament of a fulfilling vision and mission of the 13 years old institution, is first of its kind.
It is also a confirmation of the fact that the Academy, unarguably the best soccer playing secondary school in FCT being champion of all secondary school football in FCT in the last 6 years and extending the same to the national with the status of being the holder of National Principal’s Cup, is setting a space for others to follow.
Jibrin, a graduate of political science from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, started his secondary school education at the Academy on full scholarship and enjoyed the same through the University.
He is also a player of FOSLA Football Club currently playing in the Nationwide League One – a third tier football league in Nigeria, the only Football Club in Nigeria with all its players as undergraduates and graduates. A unique example that called for a study by the Federal Ministries of Sports and education.
FOSLA Academy, which was founded by the former president of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Sani Abdullahi Lulu, will be representing Nigeria at this year’s World School Football Championship organized by International school sports Federation (ISSF) in China from May 14, 2024.
The Academy also represented Nigeria at the same tournament held in Morocco last year where their superlative performance earned them an automatic ticket to this year’s edition and an additional slot for Nigeria.
