President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated Muhammad Lamido as executive commissioner, Finance and Accounts, for the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission.
According to a statement yesterday, signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, Buhari had forwarded the name of Muhammad Lamido to the Senate asking that Lamido be confirmed in an “expeditious manner.”
The statement is titled ‘President Buhari nominates Executive Commissioner for Board of Upstream Regulatory Commission.’
It read in part, “President Muhammadu Buhari has forwarded the name of Muhammad Sabo Lamido to the Senate as Executive Commissioner, Finance and Accounts, for the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission.
“In a letter addressed to the President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, the President said Lamido was being nominated due to the death of Hassan Gambo, who occupied the position until his demise.”
President Buhari, therefore, urged the Senate to confirm the nominee “in the usual expeditious manner.”
