While revealing that the payment was made based on the number of years the deceased officers spent in service and their ranks, the head of the insurance unit said, “I am happy to inform you that another N19,195,507.78 will be distributed in cheques to 18 next of kin as part payment of their insurance benefits of which they have been credited directly with the balance.
“Today being the 9th day of August, 2022 marks another indelible milestone in the history of NSCDC, as cheques are being presented to families of our fallen heroes.
“Following the commitment of the CG to take as priority the welfare of personnel of the Corps, the CG graciously approved the disbursement of over N20,000,000.00 in March 2022 as burial benefits.

“In July 2022, he also disbursed above N200,000,000.00 being backlog insurance benefit to over 60 beneficiaries.”

Today, we are celebrating our colleagues, who died in the line of duty. We recognise their efforts while they were in service by giving their life insurance to their next of kin.

“These were officers and men who served gallantly in defence of their fatherland. So, we must never forget their service, especially with the ongoing war against insecurity in the country,” he concluded.”
