The Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi in Lagos, Oba Saheed Elegushi, has dissociated the royal family from a paternity dispute on the son of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba also known as Mohbad.
The royal family in a statement issued by their media consultant, Deyemi Saka, lead partner at Lambert and Curtis, distanced itself from having any connection with the paternity dispute over Liam, Mohbad’s son.
He said some persons using different accounts on social media had been promoting the narrative and were dragging the monarch into the paternity issue.
“We are the media consultant to Elegushi Royal Family and we respond to a desperate attempt at dragging Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi to the paternity dispute over the son of Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as ‘Mohbad’.
The falsehood was promoted by some people on social media apps.
“First, this is to inform the public that the allegation is false and a figment of the imaginations of these persons. Second, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, through his lawyers, has filed a petition against these persons with the police and security agencies to enforce his human rights and protect him from cyber bullies while he is hopeful the police will collaborate with international security organisations in this quest for redress.
“Third, Oba Elegushi, just as many Nigerians are sad by the demise of Mohbad, demanded a thorough investigation and a quick dispensation of justice. While we pray God grants the Alobas strength to bear the loss, people should refrain from dragging the integrity of Elegushi and the institution he represents to disrepute.”
