Three more bodies of victims of the Anam River’s boat mishap that claimed the life of popular Nollywood actor, Pope Obumneme Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope, have been recovered.

Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga while making the disclosure said marine police operatives of the Command recovered the bodies.

Ikenga said that one body was recovered in the early hours of Friday while two bodies were earlier recovered on Thursday evening.

However, the police spokesman did not provide any details about the identities of the recovered three bodies in a statement he issued to newsmen on Friday, he confirmed that the three bodies were those who got drowned alongside with Junior Pope when their boat capsized on Wednesday.

Ikenga disclosed further that the Command had already deposited the recovered bodies in a mortuary at nearby Asaba area, and had also notified the President of the Guild of Actors and Actresses about the latest development.

Ikenga stressed further that the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Aderemi Adeoye mourned the deceased and has notified family members of the departed persons.
