We’ll Expand Our Investment In Agriculture This Year – Governor Buni

The Yobe State governor, Hon Mai Mala Buni, said his administration will launch a huge agricultural programme that will facilitate agricultural revolution this year.

Buni in a Sallah message to the people of the state issued by his director general Press Affairs and Media, Mamman Mohammed said the initiative was meant to enhance food sufficiency and security.
The governor further said the programme was also meant to create more job opportunities especially among youth for better progress.

“Government would this year launch a massive agricultural programme to facilitate agricultural revolution in Yobe state to enhance food sufficiency and security.

I wish to use this opportunity to appeal to the good people of Yobe state, especially our energetic youth, to take advantage of this intervention to explore, exploit and expand the agricultural potentials in your various communities.

“Our government is committed to making agriculture productive, attractive, and profitable in the state. This is to promote food sufficiency and security in the state” Gov. Buni said.
He assured the people that the government would continue to provide the necessary infrastructure to fast-track development to improve the lives of the people.

The governor used the forum and congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the one-month Ramadan fast.
The governor prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to accept every act of worship executed by the people during the holy month.

“As we celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the one month religious obligation, l enjoined us all to take the lessons of sacrifice, care and compassion exhibited during the fasting period beyond the Ramadan season.

“I am particularly impressed with the massive feeding programme provided by government, individuals, and corporate organisations to orphans, indigent families, and vulnerable groups. This should be encouraged even after Ramadan, ” Buni said.

The governor who commended the security agencies in the state for their valued contributions to peace and stability of the state, reminded the people to continue praying for the unity, peace, security and prosperity of Yobe state and Nigeria.
