Lai Mohammed, Sulaiman Mourn Senator Rafiu Ibrahim

Former minister of information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and the director-general of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman, have expressed deep regret over the demise of a former Kwara South senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim.

In a statement signed by the former minister yesterday in Abuja, he described Ibrahim as  a “quintessential gentleman”, whose unwavering dedication and commitment to public service were evident.

He said, “It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that I received the news of the death of Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, who represented my Senatorial District of Kwara South in the Senate between 2015 and 2019.

“I convey my deepest condolences to the family, friends, constituents, and colleagues of Senator Rafiu Ibrahim on his untimely passing.

“He was a quintessential gentleman, whose unwavering dedication and commitment to public service were evident throughout his tenure as a distinguished senator of the Republic.

“His relentless pursuit of progress for Nigeria and Kwara State in particular has left an indelible mark on our nation’s political landscape. He will be sorely missed,” he said.

In his condolence message, Sulaiman expressed sorrow over the passing of Ibrahim.

He lamented the demise of Ibrahim who represented Kwara South in the 8th National Assembly, as a significant loss.

Sulaiman hailed the late senator as a shining example of patriotism, noting his dedication to Nigeria, which will be deeply missed.

He extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, praying for his soul to find eternal rest in Aljannat Firdaus.

Sulaiman also mourned the loss of the father of Senator Sadiq Umar, who represents Kwara North Senatorial District in the 10th Assembly.

He described Alhaji Suleiman Mora Omar, the Madawaki of Kaiama, as a paragon of virtue, whose life was worthy of emulation.
