Sokoto Killing: Police Arrest 2 Suspects, Recover Rustled Cattle

The police in Sokoto State have arrested two suspects in connection to the Sokoto village market attack that claimed the lives of six persons in Kiri, Gada local government area of the state.

The state police command public relations officer, ASP Ahmad Rufai who revealed this to our correspondent on telephone said, the suspects were arrested with some exhibits including three cows and a dane gun.

According to him, the suspects who are from Sabon Garin Dole in Goronyo local government area of Sokoto State have all confessed to the commission of the crime.

In a related development, the police said they are investigating the alleged killing of an armed robbery suspect who was allegedly killed by a mob in Old Airport axis of Sokoto State.

Sources in the community said, a mob action led to the death of a suspected armed robber who invaded the community with two other suspects now at large.

A source said the police embarked on indiscriminate arrest of suspects believed to be part of the mob that killed the robbery suspect including a passerby.

But the police spokesman said, community leaders from the Old Airport axis have communicated with the police authority and the police will take necessary action after concluding investigation on the matter.
