He decried the rising spate of kidnapping, communal clashes and armed robberies in some parts of the state even as he called for collective action against the trend.

He said Governor Sule is disturbed by the development, noting that as chief security officers of their respective councils, it is imperative they collaborate with traditional rulers to address the situation.

“I was given the mandate by Governor Abdullahi Sule when he called us for state security meeting on 15th of this month.

“The security challenges such as kidnapping, communal clashes, armed robbery among other social vices have increased recently.

“Before now we have been enjoying relative peace in the state, so we convened this meeting to enable us to discuss the way to address the situation in our areas,” he said.

Responding, Aminu Muazu Maifata, the State AlGON Chairman and Chairman Lafia LG commended the governor and the speaker for their efforts towards securing the state.

Maifata, who is also the ALGON national president, called for more funds to enable council leadership to address security challenges in their respective areas.
