Correctional Service Officer Abducted Along Ilorin-Minna Road

An assistant controller of corrections, Abdulrahman Ibrahim Gegele of the Niger State headquarters office, Minna, was yesterday reported to have been abducted along Ilorin-Minna road.

A statement by the state command’s spokesman, CSC Rabiu Mohammed Shuaibu said the abductors contacted the family once two days ago and he was allowed to speak with them but since then there had been no further communication from them.

He said the controller of corrections, in Niger State, Mohammed Hamisu Isa solicited prayers for his safe release.

It was gathered that the officer was abducted on his way to Minna from Ilorin where he went on vacation.
