The Concerned APC Members and Support Groups of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have trooped out en mass in Abuja, the nation’s capital to rally support for the party’s national chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The rally, which drew thousands of party faithful, demonstrated the unity within the APC and dispelled rumours of internal strife.
Addressing newsmen yesterday in Abuja during the rally, a former commissioner of lands and urban development in Nasarawa State and co-convener of Concerned APC Members and Support Groups, Prof Salihu Ahmad Alizaga, said the rally served as a testament to the party’s cohesion and determination to confront challenges head-on as it prepares for future electoral contests.
Alizaga said the recent attempts to undermine the leadership of Ganduje by certain individuals allegedly affiliated with the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) was wrong.
He denounced what he termed as “orchestrated blackmail against the national chairman, particularly by Kwankwasiyya Movement and former governors from the North Central region.”
He noted the judiciary’s role in upholding democracy, citing recent legal interventions that overturned attempts to suspend Ganduje.
Alizaga lauded these decisions as victories for the party and democracy at large.
Furthermore, Alizaga reaffirmed unwavering support for both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, dismissing any insinuations of incompetence within the party leadership.
He urged detractors to await the next elective convention if they seek leadership positions, emphasizing the legitimacy of Ganduje’s tenure as national chairman.
Alizaga reiterated the commitment of Concerned APC Members and Support Groups to stand by Ganduje, pledging full support for the party chairman and President Tinubu.
