The Abuja Performing Musicians Association (PMAN) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has said it had concluded arrangements for the collection of the performance fee from musicians, event managers, hotels and lounges.
FCT PMAN governor, Sydney Jack Asowari, stated this yesterday in Abuja during a press conference and reception in honour of a Nigerian songwriter, Diana Paul who recently attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon but was unsuccessful in the quest despite accomplishing 150 hours of singing marathon.
Sydney said the revenue drive was aimed at taking back and repositioning the association for the good of members.
He added that the exercise would be carried in line with the law.
The governor called on stakeholders to comply with the directive, stating that PMAN is not just an association but a registered trade union in line with the constitution of Nigeria.
The governor also presented a certificate of recognition in of honour Ms. Diana Paul’s endeavor to break the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon.
