A leading oil and gas steel structures fabricator and equipment manufacturer, Energy Works Technology (EWT), has trained and empowered over 500 natives of Abuloma community in Rivers State.

This was in line with the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its efforts to foster workforce inclusion in its operational areas.

The beneficiaries, trained in vocations such as welding, rigging and fitter trades, were also engaged by the company in delivering its engineering, procurement and construction projects for international oil companies (IOCs) in the oil-rich Niger Delta region.

Currently, 60 per cent of EWT’s production workforce was recruited from the local Abuloma community.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, EWT & IMPAC Engineering, Osamuede Oriaikhi, whose professional footprint cuts across Europe, Africa and the Middle East, noted that the company will remain committed to delivering value for its clients, while demonstrating remarkable responsibility to the needs of its host communities.
