Bank Renovates Clinic, Donates Water Facility To Nasarawa Community

Fidelity Bank Plc has as part of its corporate social responsibility, renovated the primary health clinic along Workers’ Village in Tudun Amba community of Lafia local government area of Nasarawa State.

The bank also donated a borehole to the clinic to assist its staff and residents of the area on water supply.

Speaking at the inauguration of the projects, the divisional head, internal control of Fidelity Bank, Daniel Okorie, said the bank decided to embark on the project to give a revive the dilapidated clinic and provide succour for less-privileged people in the area.

While expressing gratitude to the leadership of the community for giving the bank the needed cooperation when the project was being executed, Okorie pledged the commitment of the bank to continue to perform its corporate social responsibility in communities across the state and maintain a good relationship with its customers.

“What we are doing today is not different from what we have been doing in communities, local governments and states across the country.

“What Fidelity Bank stands for is value and respect for her numerous customers across the board. As a well-structured organisation, wherever our customers are, we try to reach and touch their lives positively because we value and respect them.

“We do not take our customers for granted. That is why we have embarked on commissioning of several projects like hospitals, food distribution to the hungry, education and other vital needs of our customers. 

“On behalf of my management and the executives of Fidelity Bank, I want to say thank you to everyone who made it easy for us to touch the lives of the people positively in this community who will be coming to make use of this health facility from today onward,” Okorie added.

The state commissioner for health, Gaza Gwamna, reiterated the state government’s commitment to continue to support commercial banks in order to boost the economy of the state.

The commissioner who was represented by the permanent secretary in the ministry, John Damina, urged the Primary Healthcare Development Agency to utilise the facility with care to encourage the bank and other private investors to continue to support less-privileged people in the state.

Earlier, the head, CSR of Fidelity Bank, Victoria Abuka, said the bank had incorporated giving in the “Fidelity Helping Hands program” and the “Fidelity Food Bank program” which are initiatives to help tackle the economic challenges that customers of the bank were facing across the country.

She appealed to the state Ministry of Health to provide perimeter fencing for the clinic to ensure the safety of its staff and the facility, while urging members of the community to ensure its good maintenance.
