The highly-anticipated 10th Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) ceremony is finally here this Saturday evening.

The annual event, which honours the brightest producers, actors and actresses in the television and film industry, will be held at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos.

Below are three things you need to know about the Africa’s movie industry’s biggest showpiece:

1. Host:

IK Osakioduwa, the radio and television on-air personality, will return to the stage as host for the remarkable 10th time.

For the red carpet, Toke Makinwa, Uti Nwachukwu and Adams Ibrahim, a.k.a VJ Adams, will be returning as hosts. The trio were the hosts for the 9th edition, where they showcased the glitz, glamoud, and uber-stylish red carpet looks.

2. How To Watch The Award Event

You can watch the 2024 AMVCA on all Africa Magic channels on DStv and GOtv from 16:00 WAT (17:00CAT).

3. Nominees

With six awards, Funke Akindele is the most decorated actor in AMVCA history. Surprisingly, she is nominated for this year’s edition, which is another opportunity to increase her tally.

Tolu Ajayi secured 12 nominations with his film ‘Over The Bridge’.

Ajayi’s film was nominated across several award categories including ‘Best Movie’, ‘Best Director’, ‘Best Sound Design’, ‘Best Writing in a Movie’, and ‘Best Lead Actress’.
