The incident, which occurred around 11am saw armed hoodlums engaging in heavy fight which prompted a swift response from police that came to disperse them.

Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Haruna Kiyawa in a statement said that dispute erupted during a Gangi Event, a local hunters’ celebration, organised by a 59-year-old Muhammad Barde in preparation for the upcoming wedding of his children.

According to the police, the thugs took advantage of the supremacy fights during the programme to inflict injuries on three persons and damaging to innocent passersby vehicles.

Consequently, the Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel ordered the arrest of Barde alongside two other suspects who are currently in police custody as investigations continue.
