The director-general of NPC, Dr Nasir Raji-Mustapha revealed the initiative during an interaction with journalists in Abuja yesterday.

According to the DG, the NPC has completed the first phase of developing the productivity link-wage system, which intends to reward individuals based on their productivity levels, regardless of their job grade.

He said since assuming his role as the DG  last year, the centre has been instrumental in fostering partnerships across various sectors to bolster productivity including collaboration with industries, SMEs, and government entities aims to provide state-of-the-art productivity solutions and capacity training to ensure organisations remain competitive in today’s fast-paced market.

To achieve more productivity in the workplace, the DG said he has prioritised staff welfare by introducing transportation buses and establishing a welfare committee to address staff concerns with a conduct of specialised productivity training courses for over 100 management and senior productivity research officers who have been certified as international productivity consultants.

He stated that the International Institute for Management Development has selected the NPC as a country partner for data generation, which he said has served as a testament to the Centre’s growing global influence.

He said that NPC has trained approximately 3,793 public service workers from various MDAs, including Customs and FIRS and has collaborated with a foundation and Globalcom aim to enhance public servant capacity and digitalise productivity training respectively.
