As part of the release, the Queen of Afrobeats, Tiwa Savage has unveiled the soundtrack album for the film, offering a listening experience curated by the songstress herself.

The album comprises ten original tracks, featuring collaborations with artists spanning across Afropop, R&B, and Hip Hop. Grammy-nominated stars Olamide and Ayra Starr, Nigerian singer-songwriter ASA, Cameroonian multi-instrumentalist Richard Bona, and gospel artist Zacardi Cortez are among the features of the album.

Additionally, Black Sherif, Young Jonn, Mystro Sugar, and The Cavemen lend their voices to this musical journey.

Both the film and its accompanying soundtrack intertwine to explore the cultural shifts and inner reflections. In the film, Savage plays the character of Aisha, an ambitious fashion designer who returns to her native home ‘Eastside’ after a decade abroad in the United States.

As Aisha grapples with the realities characterized by escalating violence and heightened tensions, she confronts her past, reconnecting with family, friends, and former love interests while navigating personal scars and unresolved guilt.

Set in Cape Coast, Ghana, Water and Garri boasts captivating cinematography and storytelling under the direction of Meji Alabi. The cast includes Mike Afolarin, Andrew Bunting, and Jemima Osunde, adding depth and authenticity to the story.

In July 2023, Tiwa celebrated the 10th anniversary of her groundbreaking debut album, Once Upon A Time, which served as a catalyst for her illustrious career. Subsequent releases including R.E.D (2015), Sugarcane EP (2017), Celia (2020), and Water & Garri EP (2021) have collectively amassed over a billion streams across various platforms, solidifying Tiwa’s status as one of Africa’s most influential music artists.

Throughout her career, Tiwa has collaborated with global icons such as Chris Martin, Beyoncé, Nas, Brandy, Sam Smith, Omarion, Wizkid, and Davido, expanding her musical footprint across continents.
Her achievements include being the first female to win the MTV European Music Award for Best African Act in 2018, sold-out tours across North America and Europe, and a memorable performance at the Coronation Concert for British Monarch King Charles II in 2023, representing The Commonwealth.
Looking ahead, Tiwa Savage is set to headline a concert at London’s iconic Wembley Arena in 2025, further cementing her status as a global music sensation.
