FCT Area Councils, Stakeholders Share N3.7bn In April

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has given N3.7 billion to the six area councils and other stakeholders as statutory allocation for April, 2024.

The amount represents a decrease of 47 percent compared to the N6.3billion shared in March.

The FCT minister of State, Dr Mariya Mahmoud, who presided over the 189th Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC), called on area council authorities to make maximum use of the allocation.

A breakdown of the figures released during the JAAC meeting indicated that N1.2bn was made available for distribution to the six area councils, while N2.4 billion was made available to other stakeholders.

Distributions to the six area councils showed that the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), got N373.9million while Gwagwalada got N175.2million and Kuje received N205million.

Other area councils include, Bwari area council which received N16.1million, Abaji got N131.7 while Kwali received N181.4 million.

 

Distribution to other critical stakeholders include primary school teachers N2.1billion, 15 percent pension funds took N226.4million, One percent training fund gulped N37.2million, while 10 percent employer pension contribution gulped N107.8million.
