This was dsiclosed at a joint press conference by members of the joint security agencies including Nigeria Army, Police, and Department of State Services (DSS), led by the state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Husain Gumel.

Addressing journalists late Sunday night in Kano, the Police Commissioner said that the miscreants were planning to launch attack on the State House of Assembly, and other locations in Kano metropolis.

Earlier in the day, security operatives had also stopped an incident where two miscreants set two tires on fire along a road leading to the Government House in Kano.

The CP stated that intelligence report showed that there were clusters of thugs being sponsored by those unnamed persons wanting to destabilise the state and the leaders of the thugs were allegedly paid N150,000 each.

CP Gumel finally declared that the security agents will not tolerate any act that will destabilise the state while assuring that Kano was safe and will remain safe.

He promised that they would embark on a house-to-house search to arrest all those involved in the plot while calling on everyone to go about their daily activities without fear.

He reiterated that the security agencies were duty bound to maintain law and order in the state and in the meantime they have fortified all the flashpoints in the municipality.
