Army Arrests Soldier For Allegedly Stealing 602 Rounds Of Ammunition In Borno

The Nigerian Army troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Maiduguri, Borno State, in collaboration with Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested a soldier, Corporal Francis Bako, for allegedly stealing ammunition.

Sorces, according to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in the Lake Chad region, revealed that Bako was arrested by Military Intelligence operatives at Kano Motor Park in Maiduguri following a tip-off.

The sources said that the soldier, who was from Mallam Fatori, was heading to Kaduna before he was accosted and found to be in possession of 602 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.

“The soldier is currently in custody of the military for further action,” the sources said.
