The Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN) has officially appealed to the Abia State Government to rescind its decision concerning the revocation of Land and proposed demolition of the Trademore Housing Estate in Umuahia, the state capital.

This was revealed in a statement issued recently in Abuja by the executive director, HDAN, Festus Adebayo, in response to the proposed government action.

Adebayo called on the Abia State Government to rescind from its proposed action on the N26billion investment, as it would negatively impact the industry.

He charged the state governor with embarking on initiatives that would create an environment that would enable the industry to flourish and attract more investments.

Reacting to developments, he said, “Our attention has been drawn to the proposed plan by the Abia State Government for the revocation of land and proposed demolition of the Trademore Project in Umuahia – consisting of a 1,500-capacity event centre, mini estate, and other facilities worth N26 billion.

“We have also sighted the building approvals and certificate of occupancy of the said property.

“The Housing Development Advocacy Network charges the State Governor to use the real estate potential of the state as a tool to attract investment and create an enabling environment. This is a pivot for creating more jobs and further contributing to development”.

“We therefore use this medium to call on the government to explore other amicable solutions to this matter rather than resorting to actions that would lead to the waste of investments. This should not be encouraged. The government needs to re-align its focus to creating a better environment for more investments,” he further added.
