A Kano State High Court 7 has granted an ex-parte application to serve notice on the national chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, his wife and six others through two national dailies.

Justice Amina Adamu-Aliyu granted the order following an application made by Zahradeen Kofar-Mata, the counsel to the state government who stands in for the prosecution counsel, Ya’u Adamu.

The state government had in a criminal suit charged Ganduje, his wife (Hafsat Umar), son (Abdullahi Umar) and five others – Abubakar Bawuro, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Limited, Safari Textiles Limited and Lasage General Enterprises Limited to court on an eight-count charge bordering on alleged bribery, diversion and misappropriation of the fund with 15 witnesses to testify against them.

The 6th respondent (Lamash Properties Limited) counsel, Nureini Jimoh, challenged the appearance of the prosecution counsel, Yau Adamu, on the ground that a fiat is given to a specific person, and only that person can appear before the court.

In his response to the fiat, the prosecution counsel, Mr Adamu, said he had also been given a fiat by the attorney general but was not with it at the moment.

However, he told the court that since the 6th respondent, has challenged his appearance, Kofar-Mata will move the application on motion ex-parte.

However, Jimoh objected to the motion ex-parte, but Justice Adamu-Aliyu granted the order in favour of the prosecution.
