Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities Disabilities (JONAPWD) collaboration with Association of Widows in Nigeria has called on President Bola Ahmed to appoint a notable and credible person into political positions.
The group further called for the appointment of someone like Adenike Tejuosho as minister for humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation.
The national president of JONAPWD, Abdullahi Usman gave the advice at a world press conference held in Abuja, Saturday.
Usman stated that the appointment should go to the person with unwavering commitment and support to the community of PWDs and less privileged in Nigeria.
He said that the minister must have leading efforts aimed at alleviating poverty and addressing the needs of vulnerable populations across the country.
Usman emphasized that the community request is unprecedented, underscoring the critical importance of having a leader who understands and prioritizes the challenges faced by PWDs and marginalized groups.
The national president stressed that the appointment would strengthen the government’s commitment to ensuring equal opportunities and support for all members of society.
