The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally unveiled the party’s youth campaign structure in the North Central geopolitical zone, with a target to garner votes of 10 million youths in the zone ahead of the 2023 general election.

The party’s national vice chairman (North Central), Alhaji Muazu Bawa Rijau, who inaugurated campaign team at the APC national secretariat in Abuja also named minister of State for FCT, Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, as chairperson of the campaign Advisory Council, with members drawn from all the six states in the zone.

Rijau underscored the place of the North Central, saying the zone is crucial to the party in the forthcoming general election as far critical roles in respect of youth participation, inclusion in the democratic processes and nation building are concerned.

On her part, the minister of State for FCT urged the youths across the North Central states and the FCT to own their future through participation in the democratic process, noting that the place of the Nigerian youth cannot be underestimated, considering the importance of the demographic to achieving a truly prosperous and peaceful nation.

The members of the Advisory Council, according to the minister, are sure-footed grassroots politicians and determined mobilisers in their communities that will leave no stone unturned in the task of ensuring that the party becomes triumphant in the general elections.

She charged those who made the membership of the Advisory Council to justify their inclusion by staying committed to the ideals of the party on a united front, noting that the essence of the movement is to canvas for all the APC candidates that will be on the ballot in the general elections. She urged other zones to emulate and replicate such strategy in their various geopolitical zones.

Also speaking during the inauguration of the campaign structure, the APC zonal youth leader (North Central), Zubair Aliyu Rogun, noted that it is targeted at mobilising 10 million North Central youths ahead of the 2023 electioneering campaigns for the party in its quest to continue with its people-/oriented policies, projects and programs that have redefined democratic governance.
He assured that the APC youths would work assiduously to acomplish the mission of mobilising 10 million youths of the 24 million registered voters in the zone.

Aliyu noted that the APC youths in the zone are resolute about victory for APC in 2023, “without fear of intimidation from the opposition,” in order to affirm that they have their destiny in their hands.

He said, “Today, we are rolling out our campaign action plans and we shall be working seriously to achieve our mission and vision of mobilising 10 million of the 24 million registered voters North Central. We are ready to mobilise and deliver overwhelming youths votes to coast APC to victory at all level in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

“Today is not a day for long speeches but it may impress you to known that the North Central youths, having consulted widely across the six North Central states, including FCT before unanimously resolving to work together for the victory of all our candidates at all level in the 2023 elections, are out for unusual serious electoral business aiming to re-write APC political story, in the “mashal” walls of Nigerian politics.
