New managing director of Ogun Osun River Basin Development Authority (OORBDA), Engr. Deji Ashiru has assumed the mantle of leadership of the authority with an assurance to maximise the authority’s potentialities towards guaranteeing self-sufficiency in food production for the country.

This is just as Ashiru also declared that his tenure would entrench and respect accountability, transparency, and the spirit of teamwork throughout his tenure as the chief executive officer (CEO) of OORBDA.

The new OORBDA boss stated these when he fielded questions from journalists shortly after the former MD, Otunba Olufemi Odumosu, handed over the mantle of leadership of the authority to him at the OORBDA’s office in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Meanwhile, Odumosu’s handing over to his successor came barely two weeks after LEADERSHIP report exposed the former MD’s sit-tight attitude.

Ashiru appreciated President Bola Tinubu’s offer to serve in OORBDA and assured that the authority would contribute to the federal government’s renewed hope agenda programme for ensuring food security in the authority’s catchment areas.

While appreciating the efforts of the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, in nominating him for the position, Ashiru added that his focus as MD/CEO would be to enhance water resources management, promote agriculture and food security, support infrastructure development, and foster partnerships and collaboration, among other things.

Earlier, Odumosu said his service as OORBDA was eventful and urged the authority’s management and staff to support Ashiru.
