Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji said he is not perturbed by the actions of those who have been feasting on government resources.

He said there was no going back on his decision to remove what he described as the state’s feeding bottle from their mouths.

Oyebanji, who noted that the state government now has more money to do its work, disclosed this in Ado Ekiti while flagging off the distribution of 20,000 bags of rice and 10,000 bags of maize as a palliative to the people to ease the current economic hardship in the country. He said his administration has not taken any loan in almost two years as governor.

He threatened to report the unnamed people to Ekiti people if they didn’t desist from their actions, said his government has shunned all frivolous spending and guided against mismanagement of resources since coming on board.

The governor, who stressed that the government is committed to fulfilling his campaign promises to the people, stated that his administration is investing in agriculture, clearing over 2,000 hectares of land across the state to ensure food sufficiency and economic growth.

“You did not elect me to sleep in the government house. Since our inauguration as governor, we have been using Ekiti resources to develop the state. I am about to clock two years in office. I have travelled out of the country twice, but I have stayed with you to perform my responsibilities.

“But as we are doing all this, some people are unhappy because they have the bottle of Ekiti in their mouths, but we have removed it. So, it is expected that these categories of people will not be happy with our work in the state.

“Let me assure you that we are unperturbed about these people. We are in charge, and if it comes to reporting them to you, my people, we will do it because you elected us to be in charge of the state.

“I must thank President Bola Tinubu for supporting us in the state, especially with palliatives. The federal government gave us bags of rice, and we as a state added to it to make up the number we are distributing.’’
