The embattled Bayero revealed that he has not only withdrawn plans to stage the annual Eid-el-Kabir durbar, he has also withdrawn his plan to lead the Eid prayer at the Kofar Mata Eid prayer ground on Sunday.

He explained that his action was informed by the need for peaceful coexistence, cooperation with the security agencies and regard for law and order for the progress and development of Kano State.

The 15th Emir of Kano also congratulated Nigerian pilgrims on the occasion of Arafat Day and prayed that those who couldn’t make it to Hajj this year will make it next year.

However, Bayero also instructed Aminu Babba Dan’Agundi, the Sarkin Dawaki Babba, to announce that he (Bayero) is going to pray at his Nasarawa Palace while inviting the public to join him by 8:00am Sunday morning.

He explained further that he will receive visitors by evening of the same day and Monday morning who will come to pay him Sallah homage.

He appealed to the public to remain calm even as the security agencies have banned the durbar festivities for this year’s Eid-el-Kabir in Kano Emirate.
