She also lectured the women on the dangers of child trafficking, and how it can be avoided.

Speaking during an outreach for women in Gosa community in Abuja at the Salama Baptist Church, Gosa Primary School, where they were lectured on the need to pay proper attention to their children for a better society, George stressed the importance of the family to the development of the society and world at large.

She urged that parents should only have the number of children they can adequately cater for, noting that the effective way to address most of the vices in society is by nipping it in the bud from the family level by paying attention to the children.

Speaking on the donations, she said, “This is a palliative for rural women, including foodstuff to assist them. In the current society, things are really difficult now. So when you bring out people to talk to them, you have to give them something to take back home. Apart from the lecture they received, these are other items they can go with.”

On government’s effort to curb trafficking, she said, “the government has been trying through NAPTIP to address the issue of child trafficking but let us see what we can do to touch lives and to touch especially the rural communities that are being exploited by this heinous crime called human trafficking and child abuse.

Also speaking, another partner at Playmouth Consult Nigeria, Mr Bankole George, also stressed the need to pay attention to family.

According to him, “We are into environmental awareness, family values and reaching out to rural women, especially that is what we do. The idea is look at our community women. The women in the rural areas. What are the issues around them.

“We try to educate them on how important family is to the society at large. Making them to understand they also have a responsibility to society and to God about how they raise their children, how they care for their children, how they provide resources for their children, how well do they pay attention to these children.

“We believe very strongly that if we are able to get it right from the family spqce, we would be makikg bigger impact in the society and the world at large. We are also concerned about some other vices in the society. But we strongly believe the best way to nip it in the bud is from the family. When we get it from the family. When we get it right from there, chances are that we can spread the world. This is our way of giving back to the society.”

Pastor of Salama Baptist Church, Gosa Primary, Rev Nathaniel Dogo, expressed gratitude for the gesture, just as the beneficiaries appreciated the effort by Playmouth, saying it is impactful to their lives.
