Amid the nation’s current challenges, renowned religious leader and founder of Love of Christ Generation Church, Rev. Mother Abimbola Esther Ajayi, has expressed optimism that Nigeria is on the path to greatness.

In a message of hope, she assured that the country’s present struggles are merely a phase in its development adding that Nigeria will emerge stronger and greater.

The cleric spoke at the weekend shortly after a rally held in Lagos ahead of the programme, themed: Celebrating the Unity of the Holy Spirit: Celebrate the Comforter, slated for July 20 at the Main Bowl, National Stadium, Abuja.

According to her, there is nothing new about Nigeria’s situation. “Remember that Rome was not built in the day. I have lived somewhere else in the world for almost 20 years. Can you imagine the United Kingdom without toilets in the house, toilets at the back of the house, and then people going to shower once a week somewhere?

“So it means it’s a process of life. We are growing, and as we are growing, at some point we will get there. See, it’s because people have not been to other places. If you have been to other places, you will know that what is happening is still a process of development, and we will get there at some point. I have faith that Nigeria is going to be great again.”

According to her, the event is a collaboration among the Celestial Church of Christ, Cherubim and Seraphim Church, and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

Mother Ajayi added that the inspiration behind celebrating the Comforter is because of misconceptions people have about the white garment church.

“The inspiration is to change the face of white-garment churches forever and tell the whole wide world that we serve only Jesus Christ and that there is no other God. A lot of people’s words against us are just mouth-to-mouth, and they don’t know anything about us.

“So we are telling the world that the only book we believe in is the word of God, the Bible.    The sword of the Spirit itself, the book of Hebrews, Chapter 4, verse 12, is sharper than any two-edged sword, and then winning more souls for Jesus Christ. That is the motive. That is what is at the back of our minds.”
