A total of 500 widows and physically challenged women have received palliatives from Emnamu Foundation in Adamawa State.

Dr Emmanuel Musa, the founder, said the gesture is to mark the successful completion of the six-year stewardship of Most Rev Stephen Dami Mamza, Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, as chairman of the Christians Association of Nigeria Adamawa chapter.

Mamza at the thanksgiving mass held at his church Upper Luggere Yola, said 30 physically challenged persons carefully selected benefited the gesture across different church denominations in the state.
He stated that, within 11 months, he had constructed the CAN Secretariat with the support of people across the state.

The cleric used the occasion to debunk rumours of contesting political position in the state.
“What I am doing as bishop is more than the work of a governor. I will never be a political party member or contest any political position at any level.

“I am satisfied and fulfilled as Bishop and will never be involved in politics,” he said
Earlier, Dr Emmanuel Musa distributed cash donation of N50,000, a bag of rice, maize, salt, maggi, and a mattress to each beneficiary and 500 sets of wrappers to Catholic widows in the state.

Musa said the cleric had used his vintage office as the CAN chairman to better the lives of the poor who are faced with challenges, especially at this time of hardship.

He told the congregation that celebrating the clergyman is celebrating love for humanity.
Earlier, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri said Dami’s dedication, wisdom and leadership have been an inspiration to the entire state.

“I am grateful for your strong partnership and mutual respect we shared during your tenure, which fostered religious harmony and progress,” Fintiri added.
