Group Advocates Gender Equality In STEM Education

The president of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN),Engr. Dr.Adebisi Osim, has charged parents in Nigeria to encourage their female children to study science, technology, engineering, and mathematics courses in tertiary Institutions, just like their male counterparts.

Adebisi gave the charge in a speech which she delivered to commemorate 2024 International Women in Engineering Day, which kick-started  Friday.

She said that  only when this is done can Nigeria promote opportunities and eliminate barriers to career advancement for women engineers around the world.

Osim, spoke on the topic, “STEM For All”, on  virtual Zoom to Kaduna state participants with the theme, “ Enhanced by Engineering,” Osim highlighted the significant contributions women engineers have made to society due to stem education, stressing that women engineers have helped in shaping society.
