A pressure group in Gombe State, Initiative for Good Leadership and Development, has appealed to the federal government and the governments of Bauchi and Gombe states to reconstruct the deplorable Bauchi-Gombe Road immediately.

Its public relations officer, Tasi‘u Muhammad Pantami, said the road had become a death trap, causing accidents and loss of life and property.

He said the road‘s condition also hampers the region‘s socio-economic growth and development.

Pantami stressed the importance of road infrastructure in connecting communities, facilitating trade and industrialisation, and promoting tourism development.

He urged governments and elected representatives to prioritise road reconstruction to alleviate commuters‘ suffering and foster economic growth and development.
