A sigh of relief came the way of survivors of the devastating Jattu rainstorm, which claimed over 10 lives, as the candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming September 21st governorship election, Senator Monday Okpebholo, donated N10million to victims of the rainstorm in Jattu, Etsako West local government area of Edo State.

The senator made the donation when he personally paid a sympathy visit to the injured. He said the donation would help to offset medical bills and assist in rebuilding the market.

Okpebholo also used the visit to commiserate with Ogienneni of Uzairue at his palace over the tragic incident and prayed that such an incident should not occur again.

According to a statement endorsed by his legislative aide on Media and Communication, Godswill Inegbe, “In fulfilment of that promise Senator Okpebholo visited the families of the victims and the injured during the tragic incident who were receiving medical care in health facility. Furthermore, Senator Okpebholo cleared the medical bills of the injured that were hospitalized.

“The senator also visited the market scene of the rainstorm disaster for an on-the-spot assessment. Seeing the level of havoc caused by the rainstorm in the marketplace, Senator Okpebholo donated the sum of N10 million towards the rebuilding of the market.
