Governor Ahmadu Fintiri says his government is grooming youths to assume leadership when his second term in office expires in 2027.
Fintiri was speaking in the Kirchinga Madagali local government area after casting his vote in the state’s local government election.
He rated people’s participation in the election as high and lauded the State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSEIC) for organising a credible election.
He said, “People should expect more youth and women’s participation by the time we leave office. We will hand over power to youthful leaders.”
The deputy governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, cast her vote at Fada polling unit 001 Ward 3 in Numan.
Farauta while monitoring the election in the area appreciated youths, stakeholders and security agencies for the peaceful conduct of the election.
Expressing confidence that the PDP would emerge victorious, she said, “I am impressed with the peaceful conduct generally.”
The tenure of council chairmen ended in December 2023, when administrative powers were handed over to DPMs in the 21 LGAs in the state.
