Former FRSC Spokesperson, Agwu, 2 Others Forced To Retire

Former Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) spokesperson Jonas Agwu and two other senior FRSC officers have been forced to retire.

Other officers affected by the decision include deputy corps marshal Kingsley Agomoh and deputy corps marshal Zubairu Mato, who have all been forced to retire despite having years before retirement.

Meanwhile, FRSC spokesperson Olusegun Ogungbemide, in a statement, said the secretary to the government of the federation, Senator George Akume, has on July 21, 2024, approved the appointment of another five assistant corps marshals (ACM) to the rank of deputy corps marshal (DCM) to fill up existing vacancies in the South-South, South-East, South-West, North-Central, and North-West geopolitical zones.

The officers to fill up existing vacancies are deputy corps marshal Clement Oladele, who represents the North Central geopolitical zone; DCM Chidiebere Nkwonta, who represents the South-East geopolitical zone while DCM Sunday Iyamah is appointed to fill up the vacancy in the South-South geopolitical zone.
Others are DCM MR Yerima to represent the North West geopolitical zone and DCM Abiodun Akinlade to represent the South-West geopolitical zone when DCM Adebisi Kazeem bows out in August.

Meanwhile, the corps marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Shehu Mohammed, has approved the deployment of 20 new sector commanders to different states of the federation.

The redeployment is part of strategic intervention mechanisms initiated to drive the policy thrust of the corps marshal and rejig operational activities in the field commands.

The affected states and the new sector commanders are: corps commander (CC) Maxwell Lede, the erstwhile principal staff officer 2 to the Corps Marshal is now the sector commander, RS4.1 Plateau State Sector Command, outgoing zonal head of operations RS10HQ Sokoto CC TA Muhammed, now deployed as sector commander RS1.2 Kano, CC IS Ibrahim moves from Kano Sector Command to Jigawa Sector Command, while the former Anambra State sector commander, CC AA Irelewuyi takes over as Ogun State Sector Commander.

Meanwhile, the zonal head of administration RS3HQ Yola, CC YS Adikwu, has been redeployed as sector commander RS3.1 Adamawa, the erstwhile corps commander in charge of Youth Safety Education, CC YS Kaura, now sector commander RS3.2 Gombe; as CC CZ Mathew takes over as sector commander RS5.1 Edo, the outgoing Sector commander RS9.3 Abia, CC FA Ogidan moves over to Delta State Sector Command.

Others are CC JN Alexander, former CC in charge of the academy at the national headquarters and now sector commander Anambra State; CC TA Sokunbi, the outgoing sector commander Enugu, moves to Rivers Sector Command, as CC JW Toby takes over RS6.2 Cross River Sector Command. In the same vein, CC E. Odiete is now sector commander RS6.3 Akwa Ibom, CC CM Onukwubiri becomes the sector commander RS6.4 Bayelsa. CC MA Irekeola moves from Delta Sector to take over as sector commander Kwara State. At the same time, CC NI Ezeoma became the sector commander RS 9.3 Abia, CC F Agbakoba became the new sector commander RS9.1 Enugu Sector Command.

In addition, CC AU Ugah, the erstwhile sector commander RS2.2 Ogun, is now the sector commander RS9.4 IMO. CC PI Ikaba, the Bauchi State sector commander, has been redeployed to Kebbi State. CC SA Ibitoye takes over as Ondo State sector commander, CC IA Ibrahim resumes as sector commander RS12.1 Bauchi and CC UA Muhammed takes over Borno State Sector Command.
