The All Progressives Congress (APC) has passionately appealed to those who were planning protests to shelve their plans and have confidence and belief in the government to address most of the economic challenges facing the nation.
APC National Working Committee (NWC) made the appeal in a resolution at its 153rd meeting held in Abuja and presented by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru on Wednesday.
The NWC also noted the government of President Bola Tinubu inherited quite a number of economic challenges since coming on board in 2023.
The ruling party said the government was gradually implementing programmes and policies that would in the nearest future, bring succour and relief to the citizens.
“The meeting also highlighted that most of the economic challenges are global issues and can only be addressed after thorough brainstorming.
“The NWC also noted that some of the issues highlighted by the protestants are political, while others are constitutional matters that can only be addressed through the amendment of the constitution, which is on-going at the National Assembly.
“The meeting therefore, urged all those planning the protests to have confidence in Mr President’s relentless efforts at repositioning the economy, while assuring Nigerians that the challenges will sooner or later come to pass,” the APC said.
APC also appealed to the parents and well-meaning Nigerians to monitor the movement of their children and wards so that they will not be used in causing chaos in the country.
The ruling party also called for an emergency meeting of APC Chairmen in all the thirty-six (36) states of the federation for further discussions.
