It was gathered that part of the Olowu of Owu’s palace was reportedly torched while scores of people sustained varying degrees of injuries during the crisis that erupted in the communities on Tuesday.

Activities in the communities remained grounded as traders, artisans and even farmers abandoned their duties to avoid being victims of the violence.

Investigations by our correspondent revealed that the remains of the dead had been deposited in a morgue while those injured had been taken to unknown hospitals for medical attention.

Meanwhile, the  state government in a statement by the commissioner for information and public enlightenment, Oluomo, Kolapo Alimi stated that Governor Ademola Adeleke has approved and directed that security operatives should immediately be stationed in the areas to protect residents and maintain law and orderliness.

He noted that Adeleke has also announced that the government has ordered that the chieftaincy selection process which caused the communal clash, be henceforth suspended.
