Nigerian youth leaders, under the aegis of the Patriotic Nigeria Youth Forum (PNYF), have appealed to the leaders of the planned nationwide protest slated for August 1 to exercise patience and give President Bola Tinubu more time to implement his Renewed Hope Agenda.

The federal government held a series of meetings with several youth groups to shelve the protests and give President Bola Tinubu’s administration more time to execute people-oriented programs.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja, the national coordinator, Comr. Olamide Odumosu, urged all Nigerians, especially the youth, to exercise patience and give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration more time to implement its Renewed Hope Agenda.

“We must remember that the challenges facing our country are complex and deeply rooted.”

He said the adage “Rome was not built in a day” holds true for nation-building as well. One year is simply not enough time to reverse decades of systemic issues and bring about the transformative change we all desire.

“President Tinubu, despite his best efforts, is not a magician who can instantly solve all our problems. The process of national development requires time, strategic planning, and the collective effort of all citizens.

“In light of this, I strongly appeal to all groups planning protests to reconsider their actions. While the right to peaceful protest is fundamental in a democracy, at this critical juncture, such actions may hinder rather than help our nation’s progress.”I call upon all Nigerians to channel our energy into constructive engagement with the government. Let us offer ideas, volunteer in our communities, and work together to build the Nigeria of our dreams.

“The path to a better Nigeria requires patience, understanding, and unity. Let us give the current administration the time it needs to implement its policies and demonstrate results.

“For the good of our beloved country, I urge all citizens to suspend planned protests and rally behind our leader as we navigate these challenging times together.”
